Why the weirwood on his tabard? The only mention of arms like those were in Jojen's story about the smiling tree Mystery knight he told to Bran (which I assume was Ned in disguise based on the dialog that surrounded it.) I think he also had long hair by the time he joined the Watch, which I also assume is the case since that appears to be Mormont's raven.
I'm a picky little bastard though, I give it two Gregor-sized thumbs up!
About the long hair... er, guilty, you honor, but that's just because I looooove this kind of horrid medieval haircut (Cadfael-like, you know?). It was a sort of challenge I set on myself, because I believe that if I can draw a guy who looks hot even with this kind of 'do, I can rulez the world some day. So yeah, the drawing isn't that accurate (I mean, he wouldn't get to wear any kind of emblem too if I really had respected everything).
What can I say?... Jon is like a fantasy to me, so I represented on this picture everything I found so damn cool about him: that scene where the raven 'chooses' him, a heart tree, Ghost, the Wall, and the armor with an emblem is just bonus for eye candy. heheheh, whatever. (I might as well have represented a dragon, if you see what I mean, fufufufu)
And you're damn right about ASoIaF ruining the shit out of other fantasy novels; while I'm waiting for a Dance with Dragons, I'm reading something Glen Cook wrote (the guy's supposed to be a reference) and I'm really bored to death... that George Martin guy is dangerous, I can't accept anything that's just plain "average" now...
Thank you for all the compliments, and the long comment, I love those! ^^
